Somehow or the other my runner beans have gone from zero to hero in a matter of days (well OK, between my being out and the trains having stupid delays in the evenings I haven't really been focusing on the garden
) and now it seems that most have rather outgrown the nice and tender stage. I'm cooking myself some for dinner tonight but despite cutting at angles to 'de-string' them and cutting into pieces no bigger than about 1 or 2 cm they're still a bit stringy /tough. Any ideas how to make them a bit more palatable, because the way they are now isn't really overly pleasant to eat?
