OMG What a storm

Postby lissie » 13 Aug 2015, 12:26

We have just had the worst thunderstorm i can remember for quite a long time :o
Thunder, lightning and torrential rain
All the lights went out and all the burglar alarms started ringing.
Good job i turned the power off on the laptops :)
We were going out shopping but i think we will stay in and i will
make a meat loaf for dinner with runner beans (neighbour left another
lot hanging on our gate for us this morning)
I really wanted to go to M&S for their meal deal

It's raining quite a bit here in London and we've just had two claps of thunder but that seems it (for now at least)

Just hope all is OK at home

My mum hates lightning too Saundra - she hides in the bedroom with the lights out. :?

One year they were over here and there was a thunderstorm on the morning they were leaving - I know for a fact if it hadn't stopped by the time her flight was due out there was no way she would've got on that plane.

Like Rodo, I have been gardening. Still weeding to do in the back.
No rain yet but there are clouds and it is forecast for this evening.
The short heavy rain can quickly cause flooding. Many of the gulleys have not been emptied for a long time so the water from a heavy rain fall cannot get away quickly. Glad we live on a small incline so the water can drain down hill.w
