Been at eye casualty again

Postby Diflower » 12 Aug 2015, 13:37

Bb's eye suddenly deteriorated overnight.
Some of you may remember we had a scare back in February but they said it was the vitreous 'slowly' pulling away, rather than the dramatic rip with the other eye.
However, obviously we were to go back if anything else happened, and he knew we had to go.
Couldn't get through on the phone so went straight to the eye casualty.

The upshot is, bad news, detached retina :(
He (the doctor) was pretty sure they would operate today so he came down to the day unit with us.
The surgeon came, and said rather than keep us there all day, to fit on the end of his list - and we gathered it was a long list - could we go back at 7.30 tomorrow morning.
So that's what we're doing - as before but a longer operation, with the dreaded gas ball, the lot.

First thing Bb asked was, what about our holiday, but he said we should be ok :?

More vibes from me to you both.

The quicker it is done the better the chances of full recovery. Vibes at 7:30 tomorrow.
