It's very sad Debih, about the walking. Unfortunately they're not likely to change now, unless someone like a doctor tells then they have to :?
As for the fruit and veg though, that's just plain stupid!

Like Lizzie, I am 80 and mrs.e is 81. I can walker further than mrs.e. We both go dancing and can do the jive, quickstep, rumbha and most other dances so we are still acive.
We do watch TV but only when the house work and shopping is done.
Wish we could grow our own vegetables.
Our garden is not big enough.

Good luck to you, Cruiser and count your blessings you have good health :D
Don was 55 when he had a heart attack followed by a quadruple bypass :(
This gave him 20 years of excellent health and able to do anything he wanted
including walking a lot and boating.
Unfortunately this succession of strokes have gradually made him less and less
mobile as well as taken away his side vision so he can`t drive and also taken a
lot of his speech away.
He still tries to do as much as possible and has just painted the garage walls with
a long brush as he can`t climb a ladder :) :)

It is so sad to see older people becoming almost immobile simply because they give up walking.

We have been in our Retirement Lodge now for just over three years, and have been surprised
to see how many of the other residents' health has deteriorated, mainly because they don't do
enough walking. Having a dog gave us a reason for plenty of walking, and although our beloved
Prince has departed, we still make efforts to keep up with our walking. We make a conscious
effort not to remain seated for longer than an hour, even if it means only walking up the stairs
to the top of the building and back. It certainly shows results - folks can't believe that I'm 90.

You look amazing for your age Aggers - you're so interesting to talk to and keep up with all that's going on in the world which definitely keeps one's mind active.

Fair play to you! xxx
