Morning Ally :)

Well it's sunny here too, but I've just seen the local weather forecast and there was a massive swathe of blue over the top of us, so it's supposed to bucket down later! Better take my brolly to weightwatchers  ;) I'm meeting my friend V afterwards, for a cuppa and possibly a bite - she used to come to the meetings, every week, we used to sit together and chat afterwards, but she stopped coming as she'd lost the stone she wanted to for her son's wedding, so I haven't seen her since June. It will be nice to catch up :) B is working later, Harry is still ruling the planet on his PC game ;) 8-)

Have a good day everyone :) xx

Morning Ally, Kaz and everyone

Hot 8-) Blue sky 8-) Back to normal :D :D

Popping down to the village later, fo a few bits and bobs. I want to make up a parcel for Oliver, for when his brother arrives, so will be buying pens, crayons, drawing books, a water pistol I've already got ;) and little bits like that.

Apart from that, we'll be doing a little houseworkery stuff when we're back and cooled down.

Grumpy is feeling very pleased with himself, he's lost 2 kilos :D :D :D

Have a good day everyone xx

Change of plan. We're staying in - the wind is hot, (what there is of it) feels airless out there, the sun is hot and it's going to get hotter.

Morning all. Drizzly but really warm here.

Work for me until around 2.30pm - not that I'll be doing much as my two colleagues are on leave this week so I cleared my desk last week and am only going to be reacting to things that happen this week!

Traumatic morning for L. Mick took her to the dentist to have a baby tooth removed and she refused to have it done - again. She really is terrified of the dentist. I'm not too concerned - the tooth (and possible two others at a later stage) only need removing for a brace to be fitted for cosmetic reasons. The orthodontist agreed with me when I had a discussion with him that it wasn't worth making her fear worse by having them removed for cosmetic reasons so not to force the matter. She can always decide to go ahead when she is older.

Hoping to go to the allotment this evening - we've neglected it for the past week whilst we have been busy decorating and I know that there will be loads of raspberries and gooseberries to pick, as well as cauliflowers and cabbage.

Debih I guess you are right, but just as a note of warning I have regretted all of my adult life not getting a brace when my dentist wanted me to when I was about 12/13 :( Is there no way her fear can be addressed instead :(

Feel free to tell me to mind me own beeswax, but I do have a ton of regrets over it. Can't afford it now (cosmetic dentistry is massively expensive) and also they are too 'set' to easily move, it wouldn't make a great deal of differnence now :(

Morning all - rather grey this morning but warmish. Apparently they're expecting heavy rain here as well Kaz. I put washing on the line last night when I got home thinking it could dry today whilst I'm out at work but brought it all back in and put it on the clothes horse inside; just in case.

Usual work day for me then home to do a bit of cleaning up. Frank is staying with me tomorrow evening and I haven't done much in the way of deep cleaning for a bit, as it was quite awkward with the right hand out of action. But managed to get some done yesterday and will do the dusting tonight.

Debih, I used to be absolutely terrified of the dentist when I was younger - only in my 20's did I start feeling sort of OK about going. As you say - hopefully L will in time lose a bit of her fear.

Have a lovely day everyone - Ally, Ton and Vic, stay cool and everyone else here in the UK, stay dry :D

Oh I agree Kaz - I think she will regret it but I'm not going to force her to do something that she is so obviously afraid of. She gets herself into such a state that she can sometimes be physically sick at the thought of it! I was terrified of the dentist as a child and, like Ria it wasn't until my twenties that I started to overcome it. That's the main reason that Mick has always taken them both to the dentist - I didn't want my fear to come across to them. She is petrified of having injections and blood taken too - again, no idea why!

Even the thought of going to the dentist for a simple check up leaves her in a right state. We have no idea where this fear comes from. We have tried changing dentists and that hasn't worked. When she needed a very simple filling she had to go to the clinic as they needed to allot her an hour as she is so nervous and even then it took three visits before she would even open her mouth!

Her teeth aren't that awful - the main problem is the two top incisors that are growing in front of her other teeth. Fortunately it is a baby tooth and is already loose so she can wobble it out - the dentist has told her to keep wobbling it and if it isn't out in two months then to go back and they will try again. She got as far as letting them put the numbing cream on this morning but refused to open her mouth for the injection.

Hopefully she won't need any more teeth out for the brace to be fitted - the orthodontist wasn't sure about the other two (one of which is also a baby tooth).

Morning :)
Very dull and murky here, the deluge is due anytime after about 10; if it's just the one day I can put up with it ;)
It's still very warm though, so will be uncomfortable once it rains and I have to shut the doors :?

Ton the forecast for you does look like another heatwave so take care won't you x
Debih that's such a shame isn't it, and dentists these days are so much nicer than when I was a child, not sure what else you can do, poor kid x
Ally I could enjoy those working hours :D
Gal you'll be all discombobulated all week :D

No particular plans for me; Bb's only out this morning so I'll get anything done that he'd be in the way of before lunchtime ;)
Hope you all have a good day and don't get wet
