Good morning Saturday

Postby Ally » 25 Jul 2015, 04:39

Good morning. :D

Just back from dropping Don at the airport - the place was a hive of activity with incoming flights.

As today is forecast for another 40 degrees it's the perfect day to be climbing inside Malaga cathedral which is exactly what I'll be doing at 12.30.

I do wonder about my sanity sometimes....but I'm so looking forward to the climb and the views. :D :D :D

I'm meeting Karina tonight - she is Irish, as mad as a hatter and married to Paco. He of the world famous vodka emporium. :D :D

Karina's mum is flying over tomorrow and she wants to cook a chilli (Karina, not her mum  ) and has asked me for my favourite recipe so I'm passing on my chilli con carne wisdom.
Basically an excuse for a meet up and a drink.

Have a great day everyone. :D :D

Morning all :D

A bit windy here at the moment, but the forecast is looking good so hopefully our drive to Swindon won't be too bad, traffic permitting that is.

It's mother's garden party this afternoon and we're just staying overnight and driving back tomorrow after brekkie. Know I'll be totally cream crackered on Monday, these days that amount of driving finishes me off. Won't be able to sit around for too long though, we've got the boys next weekend and right now you can't get into the spare bedroom!!

Hope you all have a good weekend :D

Morning all :D

Ally I hope Don has a safe flight and a good trip 8-) Enjoy your evening :D

Jen I hope the weather is good, and that it all goes well xxxx

Ton I love lemon chicken 8-) 8-)

Enjoy your men in lycra Saundra 8-) ;)

Quiet weekend here, although I'll be busy later and tomorrow working on bits for my interview on Monday........B is catching a train this morning, to her dad's as there is a big gathering on Sunday to belatedly celebrate her granddad's 80th. She couldn't travel back yesterday with Martin and H, as she was working. She'll be back on Monday, as will Harry. They are travelling over together by train, I found really cheap tickets for them, Harry's was only £7, all the way here from Egham via Reading :o :D :D :geek:

In the meantime, the sun Is shining here at the moment, so hopefully mine and Mick's wander out today will be pleasant and warm, plenty of places now near the water in the Quays and Docks, to sit and eat and watch the world go by, as they've expanded down there quite a lot this year, and that's much nicer in the sunshine 8-) 8-) 8-) On the way home we'll pop in and see D, she lent me a few pairs of gold earrings for Thursday so I could choose one to go with my outfit, I only own silver   In the end I wore a gold pair with a green stone in the middle to go with my green jacket, and she's very kindly said I can keep them :D I'll be returning the others though :) I'm chuffed as I managed to wear them all day without my earlobes swelling up   :geek:

Have a lovely day everyone :) 8-)

Morning all - well what a difference 24 hours make. Rain, rain and nothing but rain yesterday (we had a total of 1.5" / 3.5cm according to my rain gauge) which the garden absolutely loved; compared to blue skies this and sunshine this morning. Tomorrow is meant to be another wet and windy day so today I'm going out to get the ingredients to make a batch of bolognaise sauce which I like to do in the slow cooker as it's lovely and soft and flavoursome that way.

Ally, safe travels to Don and enjoy your day - sounds lovely, esp the meeting up with Karina bit.

That did make me laugh Saundra - could you imagine being half way up the stairs and some huge bells start clanging away

Jen, safe travels to you as well - traffic on the motor ways yesterday was a nightmare; I hope it's a lot easier for you there and back
Kaz, enjoy a lovley day in the docks; they've really turned it into beautiful place
Saundra, enjoy that lycra ;)

Ton, if you're looking for a lovely light dish to make using lemons; have you heard of or tried this one: http://mw-kitchen.com/2012/05/09/spaghetti-al-limone/ super quick and easy to make and absolutely scrumptious with a simple green salad and maybe some garlic bread? That link is an adaptation of the original recipe which is in the River Cafe book and is slightly different. The original uses less pasta and more lemon - let me know if you'd like me to copy the full original recipe onto the Kitchen Board?

Have a lovely day everyone - enjoy whatever it is you're up to xxxx

Morning all, nice morning but fresh rather than warm. We were up early as builder was to be here at 9am (yes, snag list still trundling on  ), he only just turned up  However, washing is out and I'm about to head off for a walk. No major plan for the day, need to do some ironing but that's about it.

Ally, we've climbed up inside the dome of St Peters in Rome, different experience and fab fab views, enjoy it. Have a good day everyone :)
