Sorry good buddy, but there has been a drop off in posts, and it it is not a daily thing re today. I have noticed it for a while now, and it worries me, it worries me a lot. I bet Mick could tell us what daily traffic is compared to last year.

I want the site to survive and prosper, but I am scared that it is shrinking to the point that only a few of us die-hards will remain. That appears to be what is happening. I come on during the day and regularly see 14 or more guests. They are obviously interested in what we have to offer, so why are they not joining in? Is it because we make it so difficult?

And why do people leave without word? Frilly went, so did Dippy and it appears that Jo has. Has anyone tried to find out why?

I am not being critical, but I am slightly concerned.

I understand your concern WM - my point was about the 'regulars' were still posting plenty but just not yesterday.
Your OP implied you were asking where was everyone yesterday hence the replies.

It does seem us die-hards are still here. Dippy did join and posted lots then disappeared and our lovely Jo was one of the crew who popped in lots every day. Some of us VVers have been in touch with her and RL is number one for Jo the moment which is fair enough.

I too see plenty guests on here and think great..but nothing comes of it and wonder why they lurk but never post.

Lastly, I don't think we make it difficult. My own personal opinion, when I found this site a few years ago, was I couldn't wait to join as it seemed so friendly and I like to think that is still the case.

I've been awol, if that's the thing you're on about WM, because it's too hot to be inside at the moment and all I have is my desktop computer. Then again, it's too hot to sit outside too

I think, because we're like a family, that when we have something to say, we say it. Rather than just say things just because we feel we should.

I've tried to get hold of Dippy, several times, but haven't heard from her since the beginning of the year. And at this time of year, she won't answer anyway, this is their busy and I mean busy, time of year. I'll try her again later.

We all tend not to post quite so often in the summer, noticed it last year too - that's because, sometimes, "stuff" takes over.

VV is here for as and when people want to use it! I totally refuse to be one of those admin people (I've seen it happen on other sites) who get uppity and cliquey when people don't post for a bit. We all have lives, and summer is a quiet time everywhere. Like any site, regulars come and go, sometimes people just leave and it isn't my place to chase them to make them feel guilty!

For a start, I'm not fond of those "Where is so and so...." threads because the last thing I would ever want to do is make someone feel obligated to be here. Who wants that? As has been said several people have asked Jo and she has a lot going on in her life and is busy! That's fair enough, she is always welcome here any time, and we'd welcome her as if she had never been away The same goes for any of you here, past or present. We've never had a 'flounce' which is very unusual for a message board!

As for Facebook, there is a hidden VV page there which was set up when the site went off that time - it has had about three posts since Christmas, mainly from Kate when she's lost her password. VV never gets discussed out on Facebook, most of my family and friends have no idea about VV's existence and I prefer it to stay that way. Only Mick and B know about it.

I'm happy with VV how it is, I hope most of the members are too.

I'm 'guilty' of not posting much, but I HAVE just been away for two weeks and things at home need sorted on my return, and pesky work gets in the way, and I have a daughter and a bloke who might need my attention in the evenings....so I might get chance to read on my lunch breaks but I am a slow typist and I don't always get the chance to post.

I am not one for confrontation in any guise, I come here for a chat and a catch up with people I care about. It's not my intention to get into a debate about stuff, that's so not my style, hence why I rarely go on the news board, only in a mod capacity (IE to read).

If you want more fesitiness WM, feel free to start more threads

I'll hold my hand up, I don't post as much as I did, not here not anywhere. When Tim was doing his masters, he hogged this computer and I am not bothered about posting from my phone, the iPad or tapatalk or whatever its called. So I got out of the habit of it. I do pop on here daily, I do try and post for birthdays, vibes, I chip in, but I have fallen off the wagon, and I am enjoying doing a bit more reading and a bit more pootling, so I am not sure I what this to be the obsession it was.

I am here for any of you, I do wonder where people go and I did contact Jo, just to say hi. But thinks go in cycles and at the moment, my cycle is elsewhere.

OK, it appears that my posts have been taken the wrong way, but the only part I will retract is this:

Twitbook is not for everyone, though I suspect that is where most of you are holding your VV 'conversations'.

I got that bit wrong and I sincerely apologise.

However, the rest of my posts were not critical of the site or of any individuals. There is a lot of positivity in them whilst also being a plea for more posts and members, if they wish to join. I do know that RL takes precedence, and that goes for all of us.

At least the thread has generated a bit of traffic...
