morning all  I'm doing surprisingly well. No pain at all which is great and more movement than I thought I'd have. Bandage can come off tonight but I'll probably leave it on one more night and take it off tomorrow morning. There are certain things I find difficult to do but all in all it's gone way better than I expected.

Now to catch up on everyone's postings xxxx

have a lovely day all

Morning all, the sun is coming out thank goodness. We had torrential rain last night, we couldn't hear the tv last night it was so loud  Seems it then travelled over to Scotland as play at the British Open was delayed due to the terrible rain they had overnight. Have to go to the bank today then do some shopping for things I couldn't get in Lidl. Back to maybe do some ironing, and we are going to a 50th birthday party tonight. Glad you are feeling ok , Ria. Have a good day everyone :)

Morning all :D

Glad you're feeling better than expected Ria :D

More packing for us today, want to pack most of the kitchen china today so trying to use as little as possible. It's going quite well, kitchen stuff today, tomorrow and Sunday will be the final push.

Our biggest problem at the bungalow is lack of storage. Think a lot of boxes will get stacked in the garage until we get things sorted. I have lots of ideas, it's just a case of settling in and then approaching builders, plumbers etc to see what we can/can't afford to do. I know exactly what I want, will just have to see. For sure we will be having a new bathroom and kitchen

Popping into the village to post all the change of address letters, pension peeps for me E and Mother as well as anyone I can't e-mail. Luckily a lot of it can be done online, saves a lot of hassle. When you count all the loyalty progs, cards and websites I use it really does mount up. If I've missed anyone it should be okay as I've arranged redirection through Royal Mail for 3mths too. Honestly it's all time consuming, E doesn't deal with anything admin related so it's all down to me.

Hope you all have a good day :D

One thing I did in my previous place when i had the kitchen redone was make sure the wall units went has high up against the ceiling as possible; often people have a good 40cm between top of units and ceiling which I think is such a waste of space. Also quite a few kitchens now utilise the space where the plinth would be and have drawers at ground level - again super use of space.

That is definitely a good idea, where space and storage are at a premium 8-) :)

How lovely to be able to plan kitchen and bathroom from scratch, I did it once, with the bungalow I had with my ex, it was terrific fun as I had never had the opportunity to do that before! I had the kitchen all shaker style, with beech units and the occasional pale blue cupboard, and the downstairs bathroom art deco-ish, with squared off sink, old style taps, and the tiling with a black/white triangular sort of edging. I really loved it :)

That's nice Kaz, I love doing kitchens :D

Jen yes I do all that stuff too - at least that way you know it's done ;)

Well, counted our stash - there was still some from before we went to Spain in March as we didn't use it all - and had £350.
Now, I'm sure in March we were getting 1.2, which would be 420 euros.
The rate today (at the bank better than the PO or travel agent, for its own customers only) is 1.4, making it worth 490 euros  :D Euros come in 50-euro packs so I got 450 for £320 :D

Advice for anyone looking at apartments etc for a holiday, is to look at those wanting payment in euros, these rates are making it an absolute bargain :D

Meriad that's so good to hear, I knew the couple of people I worked with who had it done were also surprised at how well it went but I'm sure it's not always quite so straightforward.
Take care won't you (((x)))
