Very excited!.....Updated

Postby Osc » 29 Jun 2015, 12:46

Where we are going in Italy is close to Switzerland, and we had intended to go to Lugano on the local bus just to go to Switzerland and see some Swiss scenery. However while tootling around the internet on Friday, I came across this

http://www.ilporticcioloviaggi.com/port ... a-express/

sent off an email, and we have it booked :D :D So delighted, because we will see so much and get to go on one of the Swiss mountain trains which is something we will really enjoy. We looked into doing it ourselves, but the train part was more expensive than the whole day trip  so this is our little treat ;)

Have to confess, I'd be a little nervous of the descent by coach ;)

We got a bus from Positano to Sorrento, when for some reason the driver let on a group of locals when the bus was already packed, so we were all jammed in like sardines. Mr Osc gave his seat to an elderly woman, and I gave mine to a young woman who was feeling sick who then promptly threw up (and she was part of the local group  ). We had to stand hanging on for dear life for over an hour on the twisty road, trying to keep our balance while the driver threw the bus around - we were so relieved when we finally staggered off in Sorrento! So hopefully a nice airconditioned coach will be an improvement on that experience ;)
