Our little trip

Postby tonicha » 27 Jun 2015, 10:23

Ended up having the most great time - if a little expensive  No, not a house, just dinner out on Thursday night.

Also saw this house

http://www.magnoliaproperty.co.uk/viewd ... sp?id=8104 It's in a bit of a mess now, been empty for over 3 years but we know he will accept a lot less, as he's desperate to sell. It's a bit too big, really, but I'm sure we can manage   We think we could get it for about 130,000 sterling.

We went out to dinner with our friends and their friends on Thursday - 8 of us altogether. The meal was fabulous - will be putting it on trip advisor. it was expensive, as they ordered a bottle of wine cost 16 euros   and a couple of them had very expensive meats    We all ended up paying 50 euros per couple

But we went back the following evening, just the two of us and had black pork loin, cooked in and with garlic. Stunning, melt in the mouth stuff. With our wine, the total was 28 euros

Drove for miles and miles, met another mad couple in Odemira, went back to their place, think they're bonkers, no planning permission for yurts, or any of the building they've done. But that's their choice.

The weather was hot, but blowy, so kept us cool. ish

And hiho was brilliant, the air-con works 8-) got us there and back a little quicker than the other car

Not going to do a lot today, we've talked, laughed and generally had a busy couple of days, so a relax today :D

Stunning house, Ton, and just enough loungers, chairs and bar stools for a Portugal "meet". ;)

So good to know you all had a great time and that Hiho did the job.

Aw, fanks

The house sits in about 7,000sq m, but about 5 of that is let out to a local farmer, as is normal up there. He puts his sheep on it - you get a sheep per year  Dead, but cut up 8-)

I'll try and find a link for the restaurant, because if any of you ever come over to stay, believe me, we're going there ;) A bit pricey, by Portuguese standards, but that pork is to die for and even the salad dressing was gert lush.

And where else would you go that the waitress, Cristina, insisting on a cake with a candle and a kiss on both cheeks :D :D :D because it was our wedding anniversary :D :D
