Any car buffs??

Postby lissie » 26 Jun 2015, 10:46

Has anyone got or had a Kia Picanto?
We have seen a 1ltr 10plate in lovely condition in our local
garage.
We are tempted as it does 60mpg and only £30 road tax.
We have always bought our cars from this garage and they are very helpful
if anything needs doing. :D
Just wondered what the general opinion is on them.

I haven't heard of it, but it has good reports.

See this.... http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-review/kia/picanto

Lissie, before I got Agger's Nissan Note I was looking at the Picanto, Hyundai i10/20/30 and the Peugeot 106. Neighbour's have all those models and none of them were unhappy with their cars.

If you can find a few owners, even when you are out and about, approach them and ask their opinions - most will be happy to oblige. I would trust them a lot more than review sites on the Internet.

Before we bought a new car recently, I test drove a Kia Rio - very nice car, but just personally it didn't drive as smoothly as I would like and there were a couple of other things we wanted that it didn't have. However, I know several Kia owners who are 100% satisfied with their cars.

Lissie, my SIL has a Kia Rio and she absolutely loves it and would stick with Kia any day. I was looking at the Picanto a while back and for me the only draw back was that the boot space was just that bit on the small side, otherwise it probably ticked all the boxes I wanted ticked.

But one thing I will say is that Kia generally comes with a 7 year service guarantee so if you like the look of the car go to a main dealer and see what they have 2nd hand as that guarantee usually goes with the car not the owner (if that makes sense) so it may give you a bit of peace of mind. Have a look here: http://www.kia.co.uk/kia-approved-used- ... -cars.aspx
