Panic stations!

Postby Kaz » 29 Jan 2013, 10:32

 Just sitting down with a loely hot cuppa, after my shower, and the phone goes. It's a breathless Becky "Mum I need my latest assignment, can you find it on my laptop, and email it to me?"

Good old mum, goes into the pit of doom aka her bedroom, cue much chuntering from me on the state of it and much excuses on the part of the child............retrieve gorgeous expensive lappie from under pile of grot  Take it back downstairs where I can actually breathe fresh air, open lappy, find Word, look for her work, can't find it  Looks like it hasn't been saved properly - Becks sounds nearly in tears at this point, but finally good old mummy finds it  Child relieved......open it to be confronted by huge pic of red kneed tarantula  "Oh sorry forgot to warn you mum, it's a leaflet I've made, on the care of exotic species" :? :? Why couldn't it have opened on the pic of the cute parrot, further down!

Meanwhile child is on a PC at college signed into her hotmail so she can retrieve the doc and print it out to hand it in!

I save it into her docs, try to find email icon, she doesn't have one, try to find google to use net to sign into her hotmail, finally get there, open new email, attach doc, doesn't send properly, try again.................phew finally get there!

"Thanks mum you're a legend"

Yes I know I am

You're a star Kaz.

Years ago Craig forgot a VERY important art assignment for school. His head would have been on the chopping block had he not taken it in.

3 times I reminded him to take it!
3 times I heard...yeeees mum!

So he sits down at the bottom of the stairs to tie his shoes, stands up..completely forgets the 3ft x 2ft art thingy..and goes out the door to walk to the bus stop.

I spot it a few minutes later and dash with Linford Christie prowess to catch him up. :o

Walking home it strikes me it might just have been a good idea to at least put a bra on under my shorty jim jams. :P

what would we do without the internet and mobile phones? :D

I am embarrassed to admit, but I suspect my bedroom looked very much like Becky's when I was younger. It's improved a bit thank goodness
