A lorry hit us in the car so spent all afternoon in A&E

Postby lissie » 11 Jun 2015, 19:26

We were driving home after shopping in Canterbury. I noticed a lorry waiting to pull out
of a side street when the main road that we were on had cleared.
The stupid moron pulled out and hit us on the passenger side :( :(
We were taken to Ashford hospital and examined after a 3 hour wait!
Don has a badly cut elbow and bruising to his ribs and i have a badly bruised
chest where i hit the steering wheel.
The X ray shows that there is no break in the sternum (the doctor thought
there might be)
I phoned daughter and SIL and they brought us home. (bless them)
My poor little car is a write off :( :( :( :( :(
Apart from being in agony we are both ok.

Oh how scary Lissie.

You both look after yourselves - and be prepared for delayed shock.

Oh Lissie, how frightening for you both :o As Debih says, be prepared for delayed shock and also to feel a whole lot more sore than you do now. Sending you many gentle hugs xxxx

Oh how scary Lissie. Thank heaven you were not more seriously hurt.

I expect it will be some time before you get over the shock, but I hope you will feel better tomorrow.

Oh, Lissie, these things do happen... as I well know. :o

Go with the flow, but do be prepared for delayed shock.

And do not expect any resolution to be quick. The other side will argue till the cows come home.

If it is not your fault then fight, and do not give in.

I am so very sorry to hear this Lissie. What a blessing you were not more seriously hurt. As the others have said, look after yourself and allow yourself time to get over the shock.
