Child free holiday booked

Postby debih » 02 Jun 2015, 18:42

Woo hoo. No kids for four whole days and nights.

We are going here.

And it was a good price for four nights - just over £250.

I wonder which bunk Millie and Mick will choose?

I am quite excited about going away without the girls.

Sadly we will be travelling back on our wedding anniversary (Friday 18th) but its easier for my mum with the girls if we go Monday to Friday rather than Friday to Monday as they will be at school all day. (Their school is within walking distance of my mums although if they are feeling particularly lazy one of the school buses goes from the top of her road).

I am already planning food - lol. I am going to take lots of cooked breakfast stuff and then a couple of nice M&S meals for the Tuesday and Wednesday and we can eat at the pub on the Monday and Thursday. The nearest pub, which is within walking distance according to the details, has got really good reviews and is a local's sort of place - just the sort of pub we like.

The biggest downfall is that it doesn't have a bath (the cottage, not the pub) but I can manage without my soak for four nights!

March.

No reason why we chose March really other than I wanted to go before the prices start going up after Easter.

Also, although I'm hoping for cold (I have this picture in my mind of lit fires, frost and nice warm pubs) it can often be really nice in March.

Yes, it should be gorgeous whatever the weather - I'd love a few days away, just me and Mick (my Mick ;) ) but we spent a fortune on Cyprus and I am totally desperate for new carpets for the stairs, landing and bedrooms, so Mick's bonus this summer is taken care of already   I am buying lottery tickets though

Oh, you are only a mile or so outside Leyburn.

If market day is on while you are there it is worth a walk in, but it could be twice the walk back. ;) :D :D
