oops wrong post code...

Postby meriad » 01 Jun 2015, 13:57

A colleague of mine is an Amazon Prime member and very kindly ordered two things for me on Friday for delivery to home on Saturday; neither of which turned up.

After much to'ing and fro'ing with Yodel this morning wondering why my parcel was showing up as being in Glasglow; it turns out that my colleague had the post code wrong and instead of GU23 she only put G23 (which is Glasgow ;) ). Thankfully someone at Yodel realised and apparently has amended the address so now one parcel is set for delivery tomorrow (fingers crossed); but the other was coming via Royal Mail.

The rest of the address all correct and it mentions Surrey as the county - think Royal Mail will find me?

That will all depend on who is doing the parcel sorting, and I am not joking.

When I was on contract in Leeds a new machine was installed and it would turn every item this way and that till it found a postcode..... and that was all it was interested in. :o If it is still being done by hand you might have a chance.... if the sorter knows the country. ;)

Good luck and God bless.

In theory only the name, house number and Post Code are necessary.

I'm surprised that that method has not been recommended.
