Beware when decluttering!!

Postby Osc » 02 May 2015, 18:04

We were very strict when decluttering, got rid of loads of stuff. In our old house, we never entertained very much, but we love doing it in our new home, and now we find that we no longer have a lot of our odds and sods of little different serving plates and dishes! Had to borrow one back from Miss Osc today, but it does give us an excuse to buy more, I got two pretty plates in TK Maxx yesterday to start off our new collection ;) ;)

Ah yes!

I often put stuff in the genuine charity bags, but when it came to decorating guess what I did not have - some scruffs to paint in. :o :o

Good luck with the new collection Osc, car boot sales and charity shops are good for those sorts of things.

Osc, I feel your pain ;)

Before we moved over, we seriously, after 22 years in the same house, de-cluttered. We then spent the first 3 years here saying, where's the pan lid - yes, I'd packed the pans, chucked out the pan lids  Grumpy was asking where this that and t'other was, well, at your son's, where you left it

I love decluttering and am completely ruthless. I've lost count of the things I've gone to look for which are not to be found because they've been chucked in one of my frenzies of clearing out. Mr PP is the opposite and keeps everything.

Grumpy is the same PP

Today, I made him clear a walk through the garage, as that's the only place we can get to the back garden

We had a major declutter over the past year and the times I have been looking for something and had to replace it are countless. Trouble is, if you don't have a major chuck-out now and again everything is just the same. I suppose some renewal is a good thing. We did get rid of a lot of ornaments though which really was good. I bought a couple of nice modern pieces in Next.
