There's a reason...

Postby Osc » 23 Apr 2015, 20:43

...why you have children when you are young! We are (to Michael's enormous excitement) having a two night sleepover in their house while Miss Osc and SIL have gone to Cork for a wedding, home on Saturday. The children are so good, but doing the bottles seemed to be the straw that broke the camel's back :o and I'm ready for bed. Added to which, Mr Osc either has a mild flu or has what we call his "virus" so he spent some in bed this afternoon while I took the children out and he is in bed now - mind you I'll be heading to bed myself before long! On the plus side, the weather was fabulous and the views from this house are breathtakingly beautiful, right across Dublin Bay. Up at 7am tomorrow  :o  :o Shame the weather is due to change tomorrow :(

Oh Osc, I am so jealous. I do not have any grandchildren as yet...... I will have to drop a few unsubtle hints at son's wedding in July.

Osc you have my admiration in spades!!! I am having Lily tomorrow all day and am looking forward to it and scared all at the same time! It's a looooong time since I have minded a baby so young  I have her from 6.40 till about 3.40pm.....D did ask if I'd pick Lewis up from school but I'm not sure if I can manage myself

Caring for two children for two nights is awesome!! 8-) You'll have earned your rest when they go ;)

I am still grateful to Luke's grandparents for all the help they gave us.

I shall never have grandchildren and not being very maternal it doesn't bother me. Maybe because we are still caring for Luke as much as we are. But I know Tim feels sad about it sometimes so I feel for him.

I hope so Saundra, although at almost 37 and no signs of any steady relationships I am giving up on C providing any  B isn't keen on children, she much prefers animals ;) Harry is my best hope I reckon, but at 15 I would hope it's a long time off for parenthood for him, which unfortunately puts grandparenthood on the back burner for me  ;)

(((((((Shell and Tim)))))))

Gal have a good day today, minding the little one :D  :D

Gal you will be fine! I'm lucky to have Mr Osc to help out. He has gone back to bed, Kellie is having a short nap giving me time to tidy the kitchen. My sister is collecting Michael from school, and when Kellie goes for her two hour sleep at midday, I will be having a little nap myself ;) Unfortunately I slept really badly and have been awake since 5am  It's lovely to spend the time with them, even though it is tiring :D
