If you were to find somewhere near Canterbury you have numerous towns within a half hour
drive. Margate, Herne Bay, Ramsgate, Broadstairs and Folkestone to name a few.

All of these are lovely, the harbour at Ramsgate especially, we take a stroll there at least three times a week

You have no need to apologise Kaz. Rye was a lovely suggestion and somewhere I would love to visit again one day. In fact it was on the way back from Rye we visited Chartwell and I saw how lovely the Kent countryside is.

We did once stay at the Premier at Herne Bay, but we found the eating place next door much better at the Whitstable one.
