Little girls, potty training and trousers.

Postby Workingman » 26 Jan 2013, 16:20

There's a knock on the door from a sheepish S from downstairs needing help. We go round and there's little L lying on the floor with both feet sticking out of one jogging bottom trouser leg. L is at that potty training stage where she has become independent - "I can do it" explains S, so he let her!

Now S looks after the children on Saturdays as A works, but he usually goes round to his mums for support. The snow put a stop to that so he's stayed at home and that's how L got the freedom to be independent today.

Well, we begin. He has hold of L on his knees and I am trying to get one foot back through the cuff of the jogging bottoms, and it's not happening: no way. We try pullling the bottoms down to turn the leg inside out, but it's obvious that's not going to work either. W, the little lad, is running round laughing his head off, L sucks her thumb totally unconcerned.

"What are we gong to do?"
"Cut them off"
"Can't do that, A will kill me"

We eventually decide on wash-up liquid and just a drop of warm water. Thankfully for S, with a bit of pulling and tugging and screaming from L, it works. He also has time to rinse them out and put them on a radiator to dry. 8-)

I have ben sworn to secrecy, but I am not sure about how that works on 2yr and 3 and-a-half yr olds. :o

Know what? I think you are all right..... but I guess that the one fat leg and one thin one on the jogging bottoms might be a BIG clue no matter what S does/says.

Think I might make a spare bed up for tonight. ;) :)
