I knew that my thumb was not repairing properly from the accident in November, but nobody in the medical world seemed worried - time would heal.
At about Easter time my GP got me an appointment for May 21st to have it looked at.
On Monday, after nearly dropping a boiling kettle, I had had enough. The Minor Injuries unit could not help much and suggested that I got back to Leeds General Infirmary as that is where all my notes, x-rays etc. are.
Today I eventually had some more x-rays taken at LGI and they showed the scaphoid had a break - a clean break. The A&E consultant suggested that it needs pinning and a bone graft. No wonder I have been in so much pain for nearly five months.
Meanwhile I am in a plastic removable cast from my forearm to my fingers.
