typical...

Postby pollR78 » 13 Apr 2015, 08:47

I'm off for 2 weeks (this is start of week 2) as im term time, only to spend each day travelling to hospital to see my dad  he was poorly last week and eventually phoned the doc, who sent him straight to hospital and he has been there since (Wednesday).

He is completely oblivious to how serious it is, and thinks he can just go home, he was very close to having another heart attack or a stroke, but will not listen, especially to me - worked out he is scared so gets angry with me as he knows i have knowledge and understand. He will not stop drinking and told the doctor this!

I am worried but at the moment quite numb and angry with how he is behaving, apparently he was rude to a doctor yesterday and mum said he apologised

Meanwhile my wee doggy Murphy is settling in well and coping ok when I am leaving him to go to hospital, so he will be fine when I go back to work next week....doggy walker booked to come in daily at lunch time :)

Hope everyone is well :)

Best VV vibes for your dad, Pol and hope he avoids another attack. At least he won`t be able to drink in hospital.

Sorry to hear about your dad, Poll. You can only advise your dad and hope he listens. I really hope he takes on board what the doctors tell him. So upsetting and frustrating for you and your mum x

thanks folks....you are spot on Saundra, VERY stubborn! As much as I love him, he can be quite hurtful and upset mum the other day, she left and went home.

Will see how he is later this afternoon.

Meanwhile Amy and I are enjoying Murphy cuddles :D

So sorry to hear about this Poll and agree with the others. You can only advise your dad and hope that he sees sense ((x))

My first husband was so stubborn he was refused a new heart as he would not give up smoking and drinking :( I really feel for you and your poor mum xxxx
