Afternoon all, dull day here and a bit misty offshore. Mr Osc marinaded the rack of lamb in rosemary and garlic, and it is now in the oven smelling delightful. Hoping my sister arrives on time or the chef will be extremely annoyed ;) Miss Osc and the children popped in for a quick visit earlier on.

Jo what is Grasshopper Pie? We will be having mushrooms in the grass, an Easter dessert which has been had in our family since time immemorial, and Mr Osc has made a lovely pavlova. The evening will be spent slumped in our chairs, probably watching the European Championships being streamed live from Blackpool, we watched it all yesterday evening and were delighted to see a couple from Dublin that we know coming third in their category. Some wonderful dancing. Enjoy your Easter Sunday everyone, whatever you are doing :)

Osc, it's a base made of crushed chocolate flavoured biscuits and the filling is made by melting white marshmallows in milk, adding peppermint essence and green colouring and then mixing it all with whipped double cream. It's really lovely and makes a nice, light dessert :)

You know what I'm going to ask don't you? What are mushrooms in the grass? ;)

Tom came home in time for dinner so that was lovely. His 9 hour shift turned out to be a 12 hour one, finishing at 4.30am! His manager found out that they were due a 5am visit (they close at midnight, clean until 1.30 and re-open at 5am) from head office people so they stayed late to make sure inside and outside were faultless.

Good day everyone.

We have had a quiet day, and we went for a little walk this afternoon - the
first time for over a week. Could it be that these wretched coughs are on
their way out? About damn time, too. :o

Hope you all had a lovely Easter Day.

Well, the "grass" is green jelly and you then make holes in the set jelly to put in the "mushrooms" - which are a third of a banana topped with a meringue half which has cream on the flat side, dipped in cocoa powder and the whole mushroom is then placed in one of the holes. There's a pic on FB (of course there is   ).
