Brilliant artists

I have been fortunate in having my mediocre paintings on Facebook placed on an impressive art site. We have some brilliant artists in UK and other countries that are rarely seen other than in exhibitions. Many of the painters work is breathtaking. I see the BBC is doing a programme on a group. We are blessed, should there be any artists on VV who paint they are welcome to join our international group.

But Trevor and Tommy put them on along with others who are brilliant. My Traffiked women caused quite a bit of controversy but I expected that. Being part of it gives me something to think about. Hope you are both well.xxx

Thanks Kaz dear, I know you are busy. Just got back and am digesting the amount I am going to have to pay for the Smartcar my daughter returned to me. New battery, tyre etc...I cannot believe it will have cost me well over £1,000 with insurance new key new windscreen etc the MOT along with the cost of £120.00 to get the damned thing there .to the Mercedes garage on a low loader,
Not feeling a happy bunny.

I used to spend hours sketching, but I am no artist. However, I did have an uncle who was a cartographer for the Ordnance Survey. He used to draw Christmas and birthday cards using a technique I have rarely seen since.

Imagine he was drawing a cottage scene and the sun was behind him, over his left shoulder. The light from the sun would hit the edges, or be stronger on the edges of things, and those were the only bits he drew. Up close they looked like a lot of random lines and squiggles, but when you stood away the scene came into view. Your brain somehow filled in the blanks and there was the cottage and the trees, fences, hills, clouds.

He sounded Clever Frank,. If you have the slighted interest take some time and start again I am not particularly good but when I do paint a decent picture I am elated. I cannot draw but I can create what I want with a paint brush "sometimes!"

to my amazement I met my Half sister Four years ago, she is now in her late 60's she is a genealogist and I was delighted to learn my gt gt gt Grandfather from Whitby was George Chambers the famous Marine artist. I knew little of my father and his family as at nine months I was given to my Grandmother, at the age of seven I was returned to my mother and father following my aunt giving birth.
We were six children all went into care in different children's homes when my mother left my brutal father with my handicapped brother. We did not have a happy childhood but I think that strengthened us to deal with life's challenges.
I have since been in touch with members of my fathers family who knew all about the wonderful artist who had also a difficult childhood, sent to sea at the age of ten. Interesting this geneology . Start sketching Frank xxxx
