No, Ton I do not think you are being selfish and I cannot imagine her wanting to put you to all the trouble and expense of coming here. Presumably she has plenty of people to offer support and what about Paul as presumably they are on good terms. Incidentally I hope his op went well.

Paul is near Bristol, Ped and Julia is in Windsor. He doesn't drive. But she has an incredibly strong network of friends locally.

His op is not yet, he's waiting for the surgeons to decide when.

Gosh, it's a difficult one isn't it? Have you said anything to Julia about possibly coming over (or not)?

Personally if you think she'll be fine without you there and that come June next year you'll have more of a reason to come over then why not run that by her as well. I'm sure she'd be honest enough with you about what she feels. And - God forbid - if ever there was an emergency; you are only a few hours away by plane ....

I don't have children myself, but I know when Karl and Nadine had Amelia my mom was asked to come over to help out, but mainly for Thomas who was 3 or 4 at the time which in turn allowed Karl to go to work as per normal and Nadine to focus on Amelia.

Oliver is 5 now and at school and Sean will be taking time off too - he's a brilliant dad - and not a bad cook either

I'll be skyping with her after she finds out the sex of the baby    and will mention it then.

Of course, I'd be over like a shot if she needed me, but she didn't really need any help last time. And her mum in law is just up the road :D

Happy to see them vis skype Saundra - not seen them in the flesh, as t'were for three years anyway.

If I go over this year, I can't go over next year - really can't afford it, unless our investments pick up, in which case, no problem.
