The robin is a European bird, not a strictly British bird. The wren lives in the UK all year round and is considered to be a true native.
People have gone for the attractiveness of the bird and the fact that it is widely used at Christmas rather than whether it is a true British bird.

Nothing as deep, Rodo I just like Robins! I also like wagtails.

When the Robins in the ginnel are squabbling they almost fly into you. Blackbirds are indigenous and their evensong can't be beaten. They are my favourites and always will be.
