Publicity

Postby KateLMead » 16 Mar 2015, 08:11

For the last month I have been confronting TV licensing, exposing their bullying demands and payment for a TV licence in the Hereford Times
Now this is not the first time I have been threatened and Bullied with a £1,000 fine, with authorities arriving any time of day or night to spy as to whether I have a television.. Being hauled before the courts etc etc...imprisonment..
I had the same problem in 2009 when I was castigated in their reply to the newspaper article accusing me of being aggressive when I addressed them as the "KGB TV Licencing Authorities" on my letter to them.i was 79 when those first threatening demands arrived and I had a lengthy article in the Mid Wales Journal exposing these useless antagonists .I am now not far off 82 and the idiots are at it again trying to make excused that the problem was caused "through my numerous addresses." Every demand since last August has been sent to the correct address as before..
When this situation happened in 2009 following a lengthy newspaper article I received an apology and a half dead bunch of flowers.
I was interested to learn that their ineptitude has cost them in excess of £100,000 over the last six years.
As I wrote my concern was and is not for myself, but for the aged and infirm who receive these bullying threatening letters
That could push them over the edge, or in their confusion they could pay the horrible demands fearful of those repercussions. All the computers fault they say...what a shambolic organisation.

Kate,
Fortunately We have not had any problems yet with the TV licence. When mrs e became eligible for the free one I put it in her name as she is older than me.
We have since changed it back to my name. I have kept all the documents just in case they say I should pay.
Have you contacted your MP. Surely this is harrassment and you are due some compensation
Good luck

It annoys me that Luke has to pay for a TV licence when he watches mainly DVD's.

Good for you, Kate. You tell 'em.

It makes my blood boil when I hear about the sheer incompetence
of those sort of people. It is a damned good excuse to blame it on
their computer. Whenever they use that excuse on me, I tell them
I'm not interested in their office equipment, which is only as good
as the information they put into it.

Keep at them, Kate, and get your MP involved...... or just ignore them and go to court.

You are bound to win and show them up for the bullies they are. It's the way I would go. I would love my day in the dock.

I bet that if you offer them that option they will back down.
