Quinoa

Postby miasmum » 14 Mar 2015, 20:41

the dinner I threw away this morning, looked really appetising, with the rice.

The fresh chicken balti with the quinoa is not looking at all inspiring. This quinoa looks like bird seed and so far tastes like it

Cant say I am looking forward to dinner

2 hours later

and it was flipping handsome

I can recommend this recipe

My daughter made me buy a 500gm bag of kwinoya for some reason.

"Dad, it's keenwah, you ignoramus."

Well, whatever it is called, it is still intact in the cupboard. It might become bird food in the autumn as I have no idea what to do with it. I suppose I could mix it with the bag of unopened couscous - the birds might love that, or not.

So, it's a sort of Sri Lankan Mulwah curry with quinoa instead of rice.

As far as I know Balti paste is an English Indian curry paste designed for our palate.

Good point, Di, but I am thinking a sort of Madras curry with blanched cashews and coconut cream.

Quinoa instead of rice I can live with.
