I know what the story is about because I have read some of the books and of course know the original series inside out :P
Kaz, I hope they make some more because there is a lot of story to cover.

There is Loz, and a wonderful story it is too, following Ross and Demelza and their family.................... 8-) :)

Shell it will be explained as the series unfolds, it's a cracking story, so you won't need me ;) :D

Didn't watch it, but amused by the screenshot someone posted on t'net from it, showing a house with a prominent wall-mounted burglar alarm in the background ......

Is Demelzla one of the pigs :?:

I understand that filming for the next series starts in October. :D :D

I never care about little errors like burglar alarms in the background. We all know that although it is set in "oldern days" it is filmed in the now so little things like that dont bother me. I'm not that bothered about historical accuracy in a drama - it if was a documentary I would expect them to get their facts right.

I never saw the first Poldark so have absolutely no idea what it is all about.

Debih, I feel the same about all the complaints about the Cornish accents not being spot-on. If they were proper Cornish many of us would not have a clue as to what was being said.

That's right!! I've lived in Gloucester for over 5 years, and could still do with an interpreter sometimes ;) West Country accents can be hard for us emmets, or grockles or whatever the local slang happens to be for us outsiders :P ;)

When a series is set 'Oop North' it generally gets a generic Northern accent - not Leeds or Manchester or Sheffield or Lancs or Yorks, just something 'northern'.

Why accent is such a big deal for other parts of the country, and especially in period pieces, is a bit of a mystery.
