bored, bored, bored

Been at work since 8.30 this morning - usually I finish at 5.30; but the other two admin girls are both off sick so I knew I'd have to cover until 6pm... which generally is fine and I really don't mind.

But it's now gone 6.15 and I'm sitting here twiddling thumbs waiting for some document from the US so I can print it off and arrange for a courier to collect it and take it to one of the directors. I was told at 4pm that we'd have it by 5 - ha ha ha; that obviously hasn't happened and at the rate things are going I don't think I'll see it much before 7  Then I'll need to hang around and wait for the courier which can take another 1/2 hour or so... so frustrating. I don't mind working late if it's busy and I'm doing things but this hanging about is just so annoying

There we go, rant over - thanks for listening :)

Here's hoping that you are at least on you way home by now, (((Ria.)))

Waiting, with not much else to do, is the worst job in the world. I would be on iPlayer looking for something to watch, and probably be ordering in a takeaway. :o

Thanks all - managed to get out at 7.10 and realised just how unfit I am when I ran across the bridge to make the 7.23 train - but I managed it with a few minutes to spare. Did feel a bit sorry for the girl sitting next to me; I was huffing and puffing and rather 'glowing'

Frank - I'd already watched one programme on iPlayer (People's Strictly). The problem is that don't watch a lot of TV as it is and have most of the stuff I do want to watch recorded at home to watch from the comfort of my sofa. Which does remind me that I need to buy some decent ear phones for work; the ones I have here are rather rubbish. I need to get involved in some series I think because we have a board meeting coming up and that usually involves about 3 nights where you hang around waiting for documents and couriers

Ton, didn't think of solitaire, definitely will remember that next time - doh! And yes Jo, come the time you posted I definitely was home and in fact tucked up in bed by then :D

Eeeeek..... just had a (admittedly very brief) look and it seems that we don't have games available on our system :o :o   :? :? .

Hmm I think I may need to have a quiet word with our IT manager

You can get them  I was at another branch once that didn't have them - soon sorted that!!

Let me know what you want, I'll see what I can do :D

ETA - I can't remember!!! It's ok when the games are not on, I can play about with the settings.... but of course they are on my laptop so I forget what to do...maybe WM can help? ;)

Ha ha, talk about perfect timing - just after I typed my previous post one of our external IT support people came in. He's a great guy and we always have a giggle; so I ask him about the games and apparently they've been disabled on our systems and you have to have an administrator password to enable them - which he does of course....

So guess what I have now
