I've been down to the village for new gas pipe - ours is only 6 years out of date

No joy, as it's carnaval time

He's had minor wobblies about the electrics, the venting of the oven, the lack of instructions booklet for oven, mutterings about various bits and bobs.

So we, sorry, I, rang where we bought the oven from and they were open, So we got our new gas pipe, which she very kindly let us have for nowt and the oven is now in the carcas. The hob is on the kitchen table and the work-top has been placed where it should be. It's too wide so that has to be cut down. He now is muttering away to himself about jigging out for the hob.

We went out on Sunday night Ria - can't really do it again

But the hob is in, not connected to anything but in. As is the oven.

Looks good - all I have to do now is learn how to use it

And a neighboiur is having our old cooker, for one of his relatives

What sort of pipe is it? Have the connections been checked to make sure they are gas tight. You may need a special instrument for this. An easy way is to put a weak soapy solution on the joints and then turn the gas on.. Any bubbles will show if there is a leak.
There have been so many reports of fatalities because gas equipment has not been properly installed or repaired and tested.
When I was working I was involved with a firm who had an explosion when they were filling small gas cylinders from a large bulk storage tank. Learnt a lot about propane gas in a very short time.

It's a proper gas pipe Cruiser. We mostly use gas here, rather than lecky, and it's all above board

Probably Grumpy shouldn't do the connections himself, but we have all the proper equipement.
