So bloody chuffed

Postby debih » 10 Feb 2015, 14:07

I am putting this on the main board as I feel like shouting it from the rooftops and not just keeping it on the health board!

Today I did all but one of my 60 second runs as part of my NHS Couch to 5k running app. And the full 60 seconds on each one! So I ran for 7 x 60 seconds, walked briskly for 8 x 90 seconds and did my 2 x 5 minute warm up and cool down walk (although my cool down was probably nearer 10 minutes because I decided to double back onto the towpath).

The only reason I didn't do the first was because it was so busy along the canal so I came off the canal and went onto the meadows that run along side it (its busy there but only in the car park bit of it. There is the rugby pitch and the huge meadow that runs alongside the river. But only the odd dog walker walks across the actual meadow - its usually (and was today) covered in sheep.

It was hard going as the ground was uneven and little bits were uphill because of the terrain but I did it. Every single second of it.

I think I'm going to stick to that area from now on unless its chucking it down and then the towpath will be empty but relatively sheltered because of the trees (so far I've been lucky and its never rained when I've been out).

I'm going again on Thursday and I'm going to stick with week 1 for a bit longer. I don't see the point in moving on if I'm going to find it too difficult as it'll just make me give up.

Now I'm just having my bowl of soup before I take the dog on the moors.

Hopefully by the end of today the half pound I had put on yesterday will be gone!

Good for you, Debih, excellent news. Another week of week one won't hurt, and neither would another and another if that's what you need to be able to move on, pardon the pun.
