Terrible weather in New York and district.

Postby lissie » 26 Jan 2015, 20:56

I am worrying about my daughter and son-in-law who are in New York on a week`s holiday :(
The weather sounds horrendous and people are told to stay indoors as the worst storm
ever known there is forecast
I hope they will send us a text to say they are ok.
Getting home might be a problem as thousands of flights are cancelled.

I'm sure they will be safe and snug in their hotel Lissie, but I hope they manage to see the sights as well.

Safe trip home to them (((((x)))))

It's the middle of winter and they are predicting snow. Well, I never. :o

Everybody who takes care will be OK, it is only the chancers and those who sleep rough who will be at risk. God help them.

They'll be fine as long as they're sensible and heed any advice given. Getting caught in a heavy snow storm is a chance you have to take if you travel to certain parts of the US in Winter. I went at the end of February one time and was nervous that my flight would be cancelled even that late on, but then flights to there are cheaper Jan-March.

It probably just me worrying as they have been to New York so many times that
they must know what to expect.
They are staying in the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Manhattan so are more than likely
enjoying all the facilities of the hotel.

I will stop worrying now as i don`t expect they are :D

Exactly Frank - it's the poor people / animals that have absolutely no shelter and no where to go and are exposed to the elements that need the help there is. My heart goes out to them when weather like this hits

Lissie - I bet your daughter and son-in-law are making the most of the great hotel facilities and not even realising that you're worried x When are they due to fly home?

I went out to the dustbin one night last week, when the frost was thick, and thought how awful it would be to be sleeping out in such weather, and how lucky I was to be going back into my nice warm house :(
