OMG

Postby debih » 21 Jan 2013, 20:02

I have just spotted my ticker - 15 days until the kitchen is delivered.

The fire surround has still not been stripped (I am seething about that. Mick said that he was going to borrow the equipment to do it from a stone mason friend. This was before Christmas. I said to him the other day that I wasn't bothered that he hadn't had time to do it - we have both had a lot going on with the dog and my dad - but I wondered if Mark could actually do it for us. I assumed that Mick was going to do it at a weekend as either Mark was too busy or too expensive. Oh yes, says Mick, he said he could do it. It'll just take him half a day and cost £150. The air was blue!!!!!! So I said, well why don't you ring him and sort it out. That was a week ago. Every day I ask - have you rung Mark. Every day I'm told - no, not yet.        ).

The window is part stripped - we need more nitromorse so I can finish it off. Mick is supposed to be getting me some but I think I will just go and get it myself tomorrow so I can finish it on Thursday. Then I just need to sand the door down.

Mick still needs to fit the extractor hood - this is slightly more complicated than first thought. It is going up the chimney but Mick realised after buying it that it needs to go at a certain height so I won't be able to reach the switches so he needs to adapt it.

And the new cooker needs fitting before the kitchen to make sure the doors are okay when we fit the units.

As much as you don't want to - could you call the kitchen company and ask if the delivery can be delayed by a few days.... to give Mick time to finish what needs to be done and if not enough time for you to hide a body ;)
