That's one way to tidy the playroom

Postby Weka » 18 Jan 2015, 09:07

I've just spent, over the last 3 days, about 10 hours cleaning, tidying, sorting, fixing etc in the playroom. A sign of a busy year it was. Nothing was where it should be, groups of things weren't grouped any more, and who knows where the floor was hiding. And what prompted this? The darling children who decided to try and play their brand new chinese checkers game in there, using their rules which involved throwing the pieces around. thankfully they didn't throw them all. I found most of them quite quickly, including the one on the deck. but I was down to 3 that were missing and that was the catalyst for the massive overdue clean out. In the end, i found one in the dolls bed, one in the medieval play set, and one at the bottom of the lego box, 10 hours after the initial search began.

I took out 3 boxes of toys they had grown out of, a box of broken toys, and a box of rubbish.

I'm feeling quite pleased with myself, even if i'm having to do the grumpy face around the darlings.

My hint to get a clean up going was when I was looking for a battery charger. Under one of the beds my hand stumbled upon a fluffy toy - on a plate? Well, we always needed plates, so it had to be rescued. That's when I discovered the fluffy toy was..........

a part eaten old sandwich. :o  :?

When we lived in the UK all 3 boys had their own bedrooms (even though the twins always ended up sleeping together in each other's room!  ) and Conor came running in to me one day to say there 'is something big' under my bed mummy!!

Miss Marple went off to investigate - only to discover it was our neighbour's son George fast asleep!!

The best part of tidying-up is when you find something you thought you had lost.

I'm always doing it!

Well I'm pleased to report that the playroom is still spotless. Sasha has a friend over tomorrow so I think it will be a different story then, but think it's only a few days at home befor school goes back so all should be good till next holidays.

Thankfully I didn't find any furry sandwiches, only something in a storage container which I think may have been play dough, but I'm not convinced.

Lol Ally, I guess George didn't want to go home!

That is too funny - how old was George and how long had he been there?

George was about 7 Ria - he'd been playing with the twins in the garden and must have sneaked upstairs. :D :D

No idea how long he'd been there!
