I'm about to leave on the great washing machine buying expedition. :x :x

It's the choice that does my head in - I would just go in, see one that looks perfectly acceptable and buy the bleedin' thing. ;)

But the Donster will be with me and seems to take perverse pleasure in ooohing and aaahing over everything!

And also - when I go shopping for something I go in, buy it and get out.

But oh no, not him. He has to go round the whole shop. :x

If he does that today I'm going out to watch the aeroplanes as they fly right over the retail park we're going to.

Honestly! It can't be normal for a man to like shopping as much, can it?!! :P

Ooooh no Ally, I'd be the same as you...I don't mind white goods shopping as long as I can go in, see what I want straight away, pay and go. With my old washing machine the door fell off so I was straight on Comet's website, found what I wanted straight away and emailed the details to John for him to pick it up on the way home.

Saying that though, perhaps I should've taken more time and care when choosing the fridge freezer from hell

Several things have got done today :D

Sorted out the 2 shelves of cookbooks in the kitchen, put some upstairs, 2 small ones back to a charity shop, and finally made room for the two Nigels that have been on/under the coffee table for a couple of years

Before that, it dawned on me that I had rather thought Bb bought me a cookbook for my birthday - that I didn't get :?
It was one of those, 'look, there's a book I'd like, it's only a fiver which is ever so cheap and they only have one, get it if you're stuck for something for my birthday' jobs. And promptly forgot all about it, until today.
And so did Bb  It was up in his wardrobe :D
It's Thomasina Miers's 'Mexican food made simple' :)

And that skirt - after all that fuss, I decided it was too big and took it back!
They said there was a smaller one available to order, so I said yes, then when I got home there's an email saying it's out of stock
I shall go back in tomorrow or Sunday and get something else instead I think :?

Oh boo about the skirt Di, but otherwise an excellent day eh? :D I did have to think for a few seconds about what a nigel might be until the penny dropped you meant a cookery writer

We've been into town, a lovely day for a walk as the sun shone a lot, mooched about in Waterstones, had a bite in Coffee#1, looked in Marks & Sparks to see if the linen trousers are in yet, for Mick and H for this wedding (they weren't) spent another fun-packed half hour (for Mick!  ) in the little Stationers by the bus station, and then walked home via D's. We popped in so Mick could work out how many trips it will take to the tip to empty her upstairs (huge) storage cupboard of the old telly, hoover etc that she wants rid of. Actually there was less there than we thought, so one trip tomorrow should do it 8-) Oooh and she's getting static electric shocks off of her brass reading lamp, because of her new electric massage chair which is directly in front of it!! It doesn't happen when the chair isn't plugged in :? Mick rang the company and they are sending out an engineer next week to check over said chair   :geek:
