That's shocking! :o :o

All those years and loyalty!

Maybe there's alot to be said for working for a small set up like our academy - I was incredibly touched to receive the 100 euro bonus at Christmas and Liz (boss lady) is not shy with her encouraging comments and thank you's.

Makes the staff feel good.

Yes that was lovely Ally :)

Mick does get a decent bonus each summer, it usually pays for our holiday, but the lack of recognition for this chap's 35 years is poor :? :(

When Mr Osc retired from the post office, he was to get his gratuity cheque, a little statuette and a valedictory letter and I was to get flowers. Head office had a row with him about the final amount on the morning of his last day. Then the guy from head office didn't manage to get to us before we closed with the cheque etc., he said he would come the next day as the safes were being removed....no show. Finally he phoned around 6pm and said could he come that evening as he lives quite near. We were taking our staff out for something to eat that evening in the pub next door, so he said he would meet us there (as soon as he arrived the girls suddenly needed to go home   ). He brought the cheque but to this day 2 1/2,years later, Mr Osc has not got the statuette or valedictory letter, nor did I ever get any flowers. Quite honestly we were so glad to be out of the job that it didn't really matter, but I have always been annoyed that Mr Osc never got his due recognition after nearly 34 years of impeccable service, both to the company and to the public

We have the Aldi, ASDA, Waitrose triangle in Meanwood; it's not Bermuda, but it is there. It is easy to nip from one to the other. Waitrose has the absolutely best aisle for its own range of herbs and spices at well below the competitors and market leader brands. Aldi wins hands down on cooked meats and ASDA is there for most everything else.
