new suite....

Postby pollR78 » 04 Jan 2015, 12:50

oh I am very excited, the other day we went to a furniture shop and took the plunge to purchase a new sofa! I have had my leather suite for maybe 12-13yrs, when I lived in my flat before Amy.....I have been scared to change as its so comfy but decided I needed to do it.

So we are getting a lovely 3 seater sofa and a 'cuddle chair' which moves and seats 2 people, it is nutmeg (light brown) and very comfortable.

Hoping to sell my suite, have it advertised on a few selling sites, they said it can take up to 6 weeks for suite to arrive but would rather be ready.

eeek!!

:D

I dread having to buy new furniture, old stuff is so much more comfortable. Wearing in a new sofa and chairs is damned hard work. :D :D :D

We have to buy new soon, our two leather sofas have just worn through in a couple of places - and just outside of the 5 year guarantee as well

Those sound lovely Poll, hope your old stuff sells soon 8-)

Sound lovely Poll, and very exciting :D
Our two sofas were half price in an expensive shop the winter after we moved in, so we've had them 8 years.
They're still fine, I hope they will be for a long time yet as they're perfect, and lovely to have an afternoon nap on ;) :D

Poll, that's lovely, happy snuggling :D

I want new sofas, but if we can get the house we want, they might sell us theirs - and they're rather lush. Grumpy insists we wait - until I get fed up and buy some new ones anyway

I felt the same WM, I have thought about buying a new one for a few years but been scared as my current suite is very comfortable, everyone who sits on it comments how nice it is.....so hope this one is just as comfortable.

Yeah Debih, it is one of the snuggle seats that can turn, my friend has a bigger one that doesn't move and is ok, but she wishes she had got a slightly smaller one - can't wait! Amy said its her seat but I think we will have alternate days and maybe a Saturday night we can share lol!

OOOh and I won't be decorating, I don't like change unless i have to do it, I might freshen up the gloss in the room but the wallpaper is fine and had one wall papered about 3 years ago its chocolate brown with pink flowers and i LOVE it!!

(im not really into interior designs, my sister's house on the other hand is always been decorated and like a show home - how different we are!!)

I love a three-seater - lovely for lying down on.

Have you noticed, though, that some settees described as three-seaters now only have two cushions,
so that the middle person has to sit on the crack, is you see what I mean.

Lovely Poll! Can we have a picture when it arrives?

We bought a new 3 seat sofa and chair from Ikea for in the downstairs living room in the Summer, we only wanted a cheap one because it's not a room that's used that often but the sofa and chair in there were light cream and needed frequent cleaning, plus we'd had them in our old house so they'd had plenty of use. The new sofa is HUGE, much bigger than the 3 seater we've got up in the main living room and it's so comfy, as is the chair. In fact I was hinting about getting another 3 seater, a 2 seater and a chair for up here but John shampooed the pale caramel coloured suite up here and declared it as good as new

I'm definitely getting all new bedroom furniture in the next couple of months though.
