Good morning Monday

Postby debih » 21 Jan 2013, 07:07

Well, actually its not that good a morning.

We've had a couple more inches of snow overnight. Normally I don't mind but we could really have done without it today.

My dad has his cataract transplant op. Their friend was going to take them but he can't get his car off the drive so Mick is taking him - if they actually get there. And then I have to get over there later today to fetch them back.

Millie has to get to the vets for her op - thats slightly easier than getting my dad to hospital as it is closer. I think the problem may lie more in getting her home if she is still groggy from the anaesthetic and we can't get the car up the hill.

We have decided to close school - the staff are struggling to get in, the A6 is still white over with just two lanes for traffic to move. Some parents moaned on Friday when we were open and no doubt today some parents will moan that we are closed.

S's school's website says that it will make any announcement after 7.30am - which is a pain in the butt as S leaves at 7.40am. I have spoken to the parents of the child that she walks with and we have decided sod it, we will get them up once we know if it is definitely open or not.

So all in all a bit of a stressful day!

Keep warm everyone.

Debih that does sound stressful! Firstly lots of good wishes, luck and vibes for your dad's operation. I hope all takes well this time, so that he gets back a reasonable quality of life (((((((((((((((((x)))))))))))))))))))))

Also vibes for Millie too {{{{{{x}}}}}}

Becky's college seems to be open, but then we haven't had any fresh snow overnight! I'm sure you made the right decision xxxxx

Not sure what I'm doing today - if D's (MIL's) scheduled lunch out with friends is cancelled because she doesn't feel safe to drive I will walk up there slowly and carefully to see her, but if she's out I will trudge back to Sainsbury's as I forgot to get my rice cakes on Saturday and we are all out! I try not to eat much bread at all as it upsets my tum so I need them  8-)

Thoughts for those feeling unwell ((((((((((((((x)))))))))))))))))))

Stay warm and safe everyone, if you can xxxxxx

It's the feast of San Juan today (our local saint) so a holiday in our town.
Yesterday in the plaza there was much merriment including making the biggest pan of paella I'd ever seen. :o
This town is most definitely mad! :P :P

Pootling this morning and work 2-5 where I'm going to learn how to write report cards. :D

Enjoy the day and stay safe and warm.

Fil came out of hospital today. Yippee!! He's looking heaps better. But it sounds like it is still going to be a long road.

Did some shopping today. Went to the osteo and I sounds like I'm making good progress. So nice not having headache everyday

Good luck deb

Morning all :)
No fresh snow here either, it's blinking cold but ok. Thankfully Bb doesn't have to go out till about 10 so the roads and traffic should have improved by then.

Debih I hope everything works out ok, it's bad enough without the extra problems of the roads and schools (((((Debih)))))
Good news Weka, hope he continues to improve.
A good burst of h-word to keep me warm, and no doubt a spot of soup-making :)
Have as good a day as you can, and stay safe.

Lots of vibes for everyone's ill loved ones.
Snowing steadily here. I drove C to work; she wasn't amused that her school is the only one in the town that's open. The Chairman of the Governors is a creepy local councillor who seems to take a perverse pride in this.
Have a good, warm and safe day everyone.

Morning.

We've got about 4 inches of snow here, all very pretty at the moment but it will be horrible when it starts to thaw. College was open for eldest but he's not expecting many to go in. Youngest's school opens at 10.30 so he's just gone off. Lots of the schools have shut and I don't blame them.

Hope your dad gets on alright, Debih and hope all goes well for Millie, too.

Hope everyone has a good day and stays safe and warm :)

Good Morning all :D
Bitter cold here but no further snow overnight.
Road is too bad to drive on but if i could get to the main road it is fine.
OH`s birthday today but will have to wait for his other pressie till
we can get out (i bought him a cd player and radio so he can play with that)
Terrible night`s sleep as the morons were sliding up and down the hill
at the side of us till 3.30 ish :(
Will have to check on our fence as they usually pull panels out to make
