We weren't quite sure about it during the first episode; it seemed to take 20 minutes or so to get going and was all a bit OTT, but once it did get going, it was quite enjoyable .....

Not a patch on the original in the 80`s with Prunella Scales, Geraldine McEwan and
Nigel Hawthorne :)
Still enjoying it for the scenery as being born and brought up in East Sussex i love Rye :)

Exactly what I was going to say Lissie. They reran the original recently on Saturday afternoons, might have been on Drama but I can't remember :) :D

I also love Rye, and have visited a few times. Mick and I had a fab weekend at the Mermaid Inn once :D

Debih and Ally, it is well worth watching - a much longer series than this new one (two series actually) and very true to the books, which I really enjoyed :D Small town snobbery to the nth degree    :P
