Same here - if the forecast for tomorrow had been for rain again I would probably have just done it, and hoped for the best :?

I did the windows this morning, and cleaned the downstairs cloakroom and our en suite before I went out. I got four miles walking in at least today, so that was good - in to town, all the way round, up to D's to drop off something for our nephew that I forgot to pop into the big gift bag I made up for one BIL's family, and then home again :D

I've got my parents here for dinner and it's a squeeze to get six around the table so there's no way I could fit another body in even if she was tiny but, I'm being polite here, she's no skinny Minnie :o

I really hope she isn't thick enough to just turn up on your doorstep!

Did the final shopping run early this morning ... down to the local farm shop to pick up the turkey crown (5 1/2 lbs, £28) which we ordered back in November; also picked up a box of Valencia clementines, 2pts of milk and 8 carrots. That just left the coleslaw and Bucks Fizz, so I stopped at the larger of our two nearby Co-ops, amazingly no problem parking for once, deadly quiet in there, in and out, and home by 10:00.

Mrs O cooked the gammon today - luckily it's turned out to be a bit bigger than we thought so we'll have plenty of cold meat to crack on with. Finished off the Edinburgh Bakery shortbreads tonight in Johnathan Creek ... :)

A quiet day tomorrow, Christmas Eve, then my S will come over for lunch on Christmas Day, "Queen", a Christmas tea and a chat, and will stay until around 7:30 ish. We're all prepared. We keep it simple, a lot of the lunch accompaniments are microwaveable, like the M&S bread sauce and turkey gravy.

Footie for me on Boxing Day, Saturday and Sunday ....

Went to Aldi tonight, they had three checkouts open and we were served after waiting just a minute or two. From there we went to Tesco which is just along the road and it was pretty quiet in there too. Got everything we needed. Initially they didn't have any bread rolls on the shelf but we checked again before paying and they'd filled up the shelf by then. We paid at the self service checkout and there were only two other people using them.

I'm ready ready ready.

Just got the veggies to peel today - whilst having a Baileys

On Christmas morning we're going to the beach for a wee while. 8-) 8-)

Back to bung the chickens in the oven - and whilst my resident chef is on roast potato/veg/gravy watch I shall be setting the table - with a big fat glass of Baileys to help proceedings run even more smoothly.

I love Christmas. :P :P :P

We are getting there, but not as much as most of you :?

Bb's mum sent us a big piece of gammon when he went to get the fridge, so I cooked it then, kept a small piece out and froze the larger bit, so that's done apart from remembering to unfreeze it ;)
We're having the rib of Dexter beef for tomorrow, cooked like a big steak, with chips, bearnaise sauce and salad of watercress, spinach and rocket.
That'll be in the evening; during the day we have a Chinese selection pack, I have smoked salmon, things like that :)

We got all the rest of the shopping yesterday, I did a rough meal plan so know what we're having when.
Saturday we'll have 6 for lunch so that'll be the cold turkey & gammon, plus Bb bought a lovely-looking duck & orange pie from the butcher where he got the beef.
And leftover Greek orange cake that I froze, plus Tesco's tiramisu which everyone likes and only costs £2 :D

However - I still need to buy Bb a couple of things, plus nothing is yet wrapped  :x :D
So I'd probably best get on :D
