Christmas dressing

Postby Diflower » 22 Dec 2014, 17:54

As requested by Ally :)
This makes 500ml, as it's in a section of edible gifts, so you'll have to work out the proportions, but thought it worth copying out the original.
I didn't bother with the herbs, I reckon they're only there because it's designed to look pretty in a bottle ;)
Discovered we'd run out of w/grain mustard and used French.
It doesn't mention seasoning but I added salt & black pepper.

It was lovely on just mixed leaves but would go with all sorts.

4 tbspns cranberry sauce
6 tbspns red wine vinegar
2 teasp clear honey
1 tbspn wholegrain mustard
350ml olive oil
3 sprigs rosemary
2 bay leaves

Put all except herbs into bowl and whisk (or chuck in screw-top jar and shake)
Pour into sterilised jar or bottle, add the herbs and secure with lid or cork.
Will keep in cool, dark place for up to 4 weeks.

Ooooh thank you!

Thanks for the fb message when I was out today - I have all the other ingredients and actually managed to get cranberry sauce from Iceland so this will be Don's kitchen job tomorrow.

I was pretty sure Iceland would be a good place to find it Ally so wanted to warn you :D

It is lovely Kaz, so simple and would be really good on something like a pear & goats cheese salad, or stilton & walnut (not for those who can't eat nuts of course ;) )

That sounds lovely, think I will give it a bash but, sadly, without the mustard  …….husband is very allergic to it.

That's a shame molly, I wonder what you could use instead to give it a bit of 'bite' :? xxxx

I think it would be fine without, I've since seen a couple of recipes using the cranberry but no mustard :)
