Afternoon :)
No more snow here; quite a lot thawed yesterday but what's left is frozen solid. The main roads are clear, but yesterday I went out in the afternoon and the road between here and the next town still has loads of water, in some places still coming right across the road, so that would have been lethal last night.

I was glad I went out, I got a little speaker for my mp3 player in Lidl. Wasn't expecting much in the way of quality but it's not at all bad, and perfect for the kitchen as it takes up so little room. And it came with the cable, which also fits from the mp3 to the stereo system, so a bargain too :)
And got a lovely big piece of brisket in Morrisons, which is now sitting in the slow cooker with all sorts of yummy flavours cooking into it :)
Bb will have the snooker on all afternoon and evening, so I intend playing with getting some cds onto here and making playlists and stuff :D
Stay safe everyone
Di

Ps edited to add, yes I now make sure I have some frozen veg. Without a car I can't carry thing like that so it's good to have back-up. They're not the same Jen, but worth having a bag or two. I have fine beans, and a bag of casserole veg, plus the one of soup veg :)

The whizzer makes all the difference doesn't it Saundra :)
Any root veg are good. An onion, a potato, and a couple of carrots makes a lovely soup, with either a chicken stock cube or veg stock.
Or a parsnip, a swede, sweet potato...make sure you're not having too much carb/sugar in that sort of mix though, because of your diabetes ;)

It's been snowing again for the past hour or so - quite heavily but very fine flakes and easing off a bit now

I've got chicken legs and roasties with rosemary in the oven - smells very nice 8-)

I use frozen veg quite a bit - I read somewhere that once fresh veg has been hanging around for a few days it has less goodness in than frozen. I do like fresh spring greens and kale though 8-) :D

Afternoon all. Snow hasn't really shifted around here but so far we haven't really had any more.

I've had a stressful morning - just me stressing really. Millie is doing well but was very sick this morning after her medicine so that made me stress. Then I was stressing about not being able to get her home tomorrow (she has her op again tomorrow and Mick is picking her up and I have visions of him not being able to get the car home and her not being able to walk home because she is still groggy from the anaesthetic). Fortunately Mick and loads of the neighbours have been out clearing the road so that is passable now (unless more snow comes).

Then I've been stressing about my dad. He has his cornea transplant again tomorrow and needs to get to hospital. Mick is taking him and my mum there and dropping them off - they have to be there for 7.30am which is too early for me to take them as I have the girls to sort out. I have to take Millie to the vets any time between 9am and 11am and will then be driving over to the hospital to be with my mum. Last time he had it done they had to be there at 7.30am although they didn't even take him down until sometime in the afternoon and we didn't get home until gone 9pm. The op is done as an outpatient so he will be coming home that night. My mum refuses to come home whilst he is there so it makes for a very long day.

Am just off to do the veg for dinner now - nice piece of belly pork.

Afternoon everybody. Got back from shopping at Boundary Mill. Temperature inside car said + 2 on way home. Snow is melting. Main roads are clear it is only the side roads which have not been treated which still have ice on them. Hope it stays like this as I am going to a meeting in Preston tomorrow morning. Have just put the TV on and it showed part of the Chelsea game with the snow coming down.

Aww Debih it's bound to be a worry - please try not to stress too much sweetheart, it won't be doing Mills any good if she senses your stress xxx ((((((((((())))))))))

I can hear it doing something out there - we have had no more snow since yesterday's sleety stuff all day, but I think it's doing that again (we're in the conservatory so that's how I can hear it!)

Went for a long walk this morning followed by a latte and slice of Bakewell tart in our village coffee shop. After the obligatory lie in with breakfast in bed with the Sunday paper :D

When I got back I got the stepladders out and have given the conservatory a good clean - it's a lean-to one and then sloping bits had got a bit mouldy - problem is it's high at one side and I'm not very steady on the stepladder....however I managed it, and also managed to clean the roof a bit (inside!) but it needs a better clean, I will get one of those flat sponge mops on a long pole and do it that way I think. Jen helped :o  Having a sit down in it now, got both heaters going so it's toasty (albeit expensive!!) :|

I can see the icicles dripping so it must be above freezing today. I think we have more forecast tomorrow....so glad I don't have to drive in it....
