Oh dear-update

Postby lissie » 19 Jan 2013, 12:09

I have just been on the phone to my grandaughter to check if daughter and SIL
got to Moscow safely for her birthday treat.
I got a shock when SIL answered the phone.
Their flight was cancelled and as they were only going till Monday it was`nt
worth trying to book a flight today.
On top of everything else their luggage has been lost or mislaid :(
He is in the doghouse as he put her birthday presents and cards in the case
to give to her on her birthday tomorrow :(
He had bought her jewellery as a surprise.
He has had to put in a claim for the luggage also for the refund on the flight tickets.
The travel agent is trying to get a refund from the hotel that was booked in Moscow
but is`nt sure if she will get one.
He said it was one big disaster and BA did`nt seem to know what they were doing.
He is going to the football instead and says he expects his team (Crystal Palace) will
lose just to make his weekend complete

lissie

Oh that's an awful shame Lissie, poor things. What a disappointment to start with and then to have the luggage and presents go AWOL too is just too much.

It was such a good idea for a surprise weekend as the flight time from London to Moscow takes between three and four hours so quicker than me driving into London! One of the problems was they were loading the planes with passengers and luggage and waiting in turn for a take-off slot with planes standing on the runways for several hours. By that time the flight crews had done their shifts, no crew waiting to take over so the passengers had to get off the plane and their luggage was still in the hold.

Were you going too Fugi?

What a shame for them Lissie and how annoying about the luggage and her presents. They might still turn up, lets hope

Ah no MM though it sounded like I was in my post but I'd read on another thread that Lissie's SIL had planned a surprise and Moscow is a great city break destination, and they know how to Do Snow!

SIL phoned to say their luggage has been located and BA will send it to them by courier :D
The only trouble is that they cannot give any idea when that will be :(

lissie :D (daughter will just have to wait for her birthday pressies)
