Amazon delivery

Postby JoM » 18 Dec 2014, 13:32

Tom asked me a while ago if I'd order something for M from Amazon for him, it turned out to be a silver necklace. I kept asking him for the details as time's running out for deliveries and finally last night, at around 7.30pm, he told me what he needed ordering. For the Super Saver delivery it was giving an order estimate of the 22nd-24th which is cutting it a bit fine but the only other delivery option was costing around £6.

We went with the free delivery and selected to have it sent to my parents as they're in more than us.

Would you believe that it was delivered by Amazon Logistics at just after 10.30am today?

I know Amazon and their courier deliveries get slagged off a lot but they really have done extremely well here!

I was amazed at how quickly Harry's new passport arrived - less than ten days!! I was worried as the lady in the Post Office said the photos might not be acceptable as H's face had some shadow on it, but two days after submitting it I had a text to say the application had been accepted and it would take up to three weeks, but it arrived at his dad's yesterday!! :D 8-)

That's good going Kaz!

I know one of the boys had their photos returned as unacceptable because their hair was casting a shadow behind them

:o Blimey!

I was a bit peeved when the lady in the PO said there might be an issue with the photos, as I'd got them done in Jessops, so they should have been fine! If they'd been refused I was going to go back for a refund! :?

I know we ended up in Jessops and I'm pretty sure that they had a policy to retake if there were any problems. I'd initially had them done at the Co Op pharmacy though and they also had a retake policy but when I returned with, I think, Joe they'd stopped doing them in the couple of weeks between us having them taken and the Passport Office returning them as they were having to retake so many. Once they'd run out of film they'd stopped offering the service.

Oh right, well that's worth knowing! :) I had the receipt still tucked inside the small folder they give you so I thought it would be ok anyway.....

My friend had hers done in Jessops. They did retake them for free, which is just as well as they had to be retaken 3 times

I hoped one of the puzzles I ordered for Luke on Tuesday would be here today but it hasn't arrived yet. Hopefully tomorrow

Can I jump in here and give a big thumbs up to Vistaprint. 8-) 8-)

Mum wanted some calendars doing for various family members including my aunt in Australia.

They're all photos that I've taken over the years and that I have on fb - when mum was over in October it was a case of her saying, for eg, I'd like the picture of the 5 of you together in the pub, and oh the one of you all at the beach etc...resulting in me racking my brains and then having to find said pictures.

This took ages!!! :x :x :x

Got 13 photos together (one for the front cover) sent them off to Vista print last Monday - they were all delivered to mum last Friday! :) :) :)

Faster than it took me to collate them all!

Very impressive service.

Footnote: pity my far and wide spread family having to look at pictures of us for the next 12 months!
