Penicillin for a cold ??? Oh Aggers I think you need another GP, on Warfarin too !! Hope you are better soon and suggest Echinacea for a DIY help.

Penicillin is a recognisd medication for bronchitis.
so I don't think my GP's judgement was that far out. He did leave it to me to make the decision.

Echinacea has been suspected of causing ITP, (Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura), which I have suffered in the past.

I do not think a penicillin type antibio should be given without a test to see if you have a bacterial secondary. It can affect your INR which presumably you are monitoring. Warmth then and plenty of rest if not Echinacea and Best Wishes for a swift recovery.
