The original rustic nail in the centre might be ideal for a big fluffy bauble!

He was polishing his brass ammunition cartridges when I came out. He thinks he's standing them on it. :lol:

The picture makes it look smaller than it actually is! In fact, the photo makes it look rather nice. Talk about the camera telling lies!!!

I have adorned it with candles and when he goes out I will cover it in fairy lights too.

The chimney breast needs replastering below it and then the whole room is being decorated in the Spring. (Clock on mantlepiece made by S when she was in Year 4. Still works perfectly). Can you see the xmas tree in the mirror - decorating it tomorrow.

Think I'd have preferred it set into the wall and the whole length of the chimney breast.

But with the candles and stuff on it, it doesn't look too bad Debih.

And you'll get used to it being there and then ignore it :lol:
