What are we all doing for Christmas?

Postby JoM » 12 Dec 2014, 23:21

We're carrying on with the tradition we started last year and walking around to the pub on Christmas Eve night :D Joe's coming this year, we felt guilty last year because when we got there some of the kids from our close who he's friends with were there.

My parents are coming for dinner on Christmas Day and we're going to them on Boxing Day for lunch, along with my sister and her fella. Mom always has dinner ready for about noon and we usually stay until 6ish.

John's off to Wales with a group of cycling friends on, I think, the 28th and he and Joe are thinking of going to stay with MIL for a night sometime between Christmas and New Year.

Hopefully some calories will be burnt off by walking Billy ;)

Christmas Eve my sister and her other half are calling in when they drop mum off. Later we (me, mick, mum, s and l) will be walking down to the pub for carols round the tree, mince pies and mulled wine. Then home for tv and cheese and biscuits.

Christmas Day I shall be resisting the urge to kill my inlaws.

Boxing Day we will, with mum in tow, be going to watch the raft race then onto our friends for leftovers (of which it appears I will have many), drinks and games.
Life begins at the end of your comfort zone!

On our own as is now usual.
For a few years we went to our lovely elderly neighbours for a few hours Christmas evening but first Doug then Sue died :o
But we're having our party the Sunday before :D :P :D
And Bb's always had the boys for Boxing day, and usually stay for the day after :)
His mum and dad have usually come the day after too.

Just me, Mick and Becks for Christmas and Boxing Day, B goes to her dad's for a couple of days on the 27th and Mick will pick H up so he'll be here for several days. My sister and BIL are coming on the 29th and 30th which will be nice :)

No Chris, he's going to a big footie match on Boxing Day so turned down my invite.....

We'll have a curry for Christmas Eve, then on Christmas Day, a stroll down to the beach, then a pit-stop for a coffee and brandy 8-)

And as it's going to be rather sunny, apparently, we'll have a bbq. I have a back-up plan in case it's too cold/wet.

And just the two of us again.

Saundra, have a hug from me xx

And then I expect Debih will be here for a few days, to escape :P :P :P :P

We have booked up for a 5-day coach holiday to Barnstable, as a special treat
to celebrate my special birthday on Christmas Eve. It's at a posh hotel, with lots
of entertainment laid on, plus a local pantomime and some sight-seeing tours.
I'm really looking forward to it.

That sounds lovely Aggers :)

Christmas this year will be pretty hectic for us. We'll travel up to Swindon a couple of days beforehand, spend an afternoon with my aunt and uncle (both very frail now) and then visit eldest daughter M and her brood on Christmas Eve. Christmas Day we'll spend the morning at the care home with mother and afterwards, like last year, we've booked lunch at the Hilton, a lovely treat. Boxing Day it's back in the car to spend the day with Z and the boys in Sevenoaks. We've decided to stay overnight and treat them to brekkie before coming home again. After all that I'm sure we'll be exhausted and need a rest through to New Year!! Apart from the driving, it should be good fun, we're really looking forward to it all :)

Just the two of us on Christmas Day :)
Daughter invited us but i don`t fancy driving and as they will all
have had a drink or three we can`t expect a lift :x
Son, DIL and the two terrors are coming to us next Sunday (not tomorrow)
so we will have our Christmas then.
They want us to go down to Eastbourne to spend Xmas Day with them but
it is a long way to drive. I hate this getting old as a couple of years ago the
driving would`nt have bothered me.
Two grandaughters and their partners will be with my daughter (perhaps they
will pop over to see us)
Klara and Nathan will be spending Xmas day at Easter Island.
Alyssa is home (Hastings) for just Xmas Day and Boxing Day and working in
her PT job at Victorias Secrets the rest of the holiday.
Grandson is working in a restaurant in Brighton.
