I really don't like winter

Postby Weka » 20 Jul 2015, 11:38

It's cold
It's dark
It's rainy
It's windy
It's bedtime
So I thought, "I know, I'll make up a treat of a hot water bottle"
Freshly boiled water from the jug goes in, and I do the lid up tight and cuddle, only to have the side of the damn thing split spraying me in boiling water!!
I've now got a scalded tummy
I'm not happy
It's not fun having an ice pack pressed to your tummy in the middle of winter

Where's my wheat pack?

Hope you have some lavender oil handy, even at this stage it would help soothe the burn.

And now I can't sleep. I woke up an hour ago (4am) and I can't get back to sleep. At least my tummy isn't hurting so I think I was very lucky

Jeeze Weka, you were damned lucky not to be badly scolded.

Just take care of the damaged area with rehydration and pain relief, and if needs be get medical help.

Still healing. Only one bit left now about the size of a pound coin, so yes, very lucky. Can you imagine if I'd actually been in bed asleep? About 10 mins later?

Anyway, 3 new bottles purchased. They were only $2.50 each so will be thrown out after next winter, looking perished or not. We use them as cold water bottles in summer, so I guess they get a bit of use.

Holding an ice pack to your tummy, when your cold, in winter, when it was going to be a hot water bottle is not an experience I want to repeat. Brrrrrrrr
