Good Morning Easter Monday

Postby meriad » 28 Mar 2016, 07:06

Another early start for me. The wind and rain have been something horrendous all night and I've hardly slept so come 7.30am I figured I may as well give up and get up and check out any possible damage in the garden. Thankfully only the plastic roofing on the hedgehog run and the BBQ cover that blew off and they were quickly put back into place.

I'm off to lunch later today, about 40 mins drive away - just hope the roads are OK as it's mainly all back roads through small villages and I suspect there will be quite a few branches in the roads and loads of puddles... I'll be giving myself a bit of extra time me thinks :D

Have a lovely day everyone, enjoy whatever it is you're up to x

Morning Ria, Ally and everyone

A gorgeous morning here but sounds horrific over there, take care you lot. The north over here is going to get it too.

Normal day for us in Portugal and I'm going to be the domestic goddess today. I've been ignoring it for over a week, but we can now write messages in the dust    Won't take me long, but also have a stack of ironing

Stay safe over there and hope you have a good a day as you can xx

Morning all :)

Ally, Ria, I merged your threads as I think you both posted at the same time :D :geek:

The weather is ok here at the moment, no doubt Katie will kick in later  Take care Ria and enjoy your lunch out :)

I've enjoyed all your Easter Week photos Ally :) Happy dusting Ton ;) :D

No plans here as such, although I would like to get out today at some point as I was in all day yesterday. We did have a nice day, the lamb was gorgeous and loads left over :)

Have a good day everyone :) xxx

Good morning ladies.

It's raining, and blowing a gale here, so we won't be going out yet-a-while.

Not exactly Bank Holiday weather. So it's indoor pursuits for us.

Hope it clears up for tomorrow, as we've booked up for a day trip to Lincoln. Last time we went there
we couldn't see everything we wanted to because it was so crowded [for the Christmas Market event].

Have a nice day - and keep smiling. :D

Morning :)
It's a bit windy! :o  :D
Some of you may have heard there were gusts of up to 106mph at the Needles last night
It started properly late afternoon, the wind having built up all day, with rain, thunder, hailstones, you name it :D

We timed going out well though, stayed nearby as we knew what was coming, and went to Newport Quay, to a lovely pub called The Bargeman's Rest.
Didn't have the amazing-looking roast, as we'd had rib of beef the night before and plenty left ;)
Bb had a lamb and chorizo casserole, in a tomato and herb sauce; I had a whole sea bass, grilled with garlic butter and prawns.
Both came with all the veg they were serving with the roast, except roast potatoes - local new potatoes, cauliflower cheese, carrots, broccoli, mashed swede, and peas :D

We already knew that although officially check-out is 10, our ferry's not till 5 and no-one's arriving tomorrow, so we could leave as late as we wanted.
Just now the lady who lives in the biggest ex-barn knocked on the door to say the owner of ours had phoned her to say if there were any problems with the ferry we can stay an extra night, free of charge :D
Think it will be ok, the wind is supposed to ease gradually, but obviously will keep checking and it's lovely to know we won't be stuck :)

It's gorgeously bright and sunny at the moment, but scarily windy  :D

Very happy bunnies as we downloaded Skygo to Bb's tablet before we came, and hey presto we can watch the cricket :D

Morning all :D

Bright and sunny but very windy here. It was howling last night, thank goodness for double glazing.

No plans for today, need to get the house sorted ready for the invasion tomorrow. We're having the boys through until Friday so keeping fingers tightly crossed the weather perks up while they're here.

Hope you all have a good day :D

Di, I'm so glad you've had a good break, and how lovely of the owner to offer you that :) 8-) :D

Saundra hope you haven't eaten it all :P

Aggers I have never been to Lincoln but hear it is lovely - hope you enjoy it :)

Jen have a great time with the boys, hope you get some good 'beach' weather! :Hi:

We've had a quiet day, B and I went out for some milk and bread and a good walk, Mick resealed the bottom of the shower unit which hadn't 'taken' properly the other day, and we've otherwise just chilled out :) :D It's been a nice weekend 8-) :)
