Hellooooo!

Postby Osc » 17 Nov 2014, 20:28

Sorry I've not been around, it's been busy! Michael's party was a great success I think, if the exhaustion of the adults was anything to go by when it was over   About 10 minutes in, one little boy fell and hit his head on the corner of the coffee table and bled profusely from a tiny scratch on his hairline  It was soon cleaned up, the tears dried and he was back in the fray. Miss Osc got in touch with his mother who wasn't at all phased, apparently his third head wound in two weeks :o They were lovely children I must say, all well mannered, played the games, ate the food and didn't make too much mess

Yesterday we went to see what work had been done on our house while we were away, definite progress in the week which was good to see. Less than a month to scheduled finishing day :o

Miss Osc and hubby are looking for somewhere else to rent, it's very stressful worrying about flooding every time it rains. They have looked at three places today, one they loved but the rent is higher than here so they need to do the sums but it probably won't be affordable. There are still dryers and dehumidifiers going all the time and it is drying out, but it means we are now using their living room which is not easy for them, plus they are still sleeping in the living room as well while their bedroom dries out. I haven't even unpacked properly after our holiday.

Just heard this evening that a guy we knew in college, and met once or twice over the years, had a massive stroke while on holiday in the Bahamas and passed away today, so a lot of people gave awful stuff going on in their lives which puts all this into perspective.

Hope everyone is well xxx

Ola back to you :D

Glad the party went well Osc, even if there was a little blood

Probably best for Miss Osc and family to move somewhere else-. Once you can cope with, twice is not good and as you say, the worry of more flooding every time it rains is not good for the family.

Wow, that is such a short time for the new house - in by Christmas then?

Moving sounds wise, flooding is horrible enough even once :?

I'm glad Michael's party went well, and that your new place is coming along so well :)

Osc it must be awful living with that and the threat of it all the time, moving must be the best thing even though it's such hard work in itself.
Such a shame when the place had sounded so ideal (((x)))

I do hope things go well for you. It must be very worrying, as the weather everywhere seems to be going to pot.

Fingers crossed for you.

Blimey Osc! I didn't realise that building completion date was so close! :o
I hope that your daughter and family can find somewhere new, that place sounded lovely as well so it's a shame that it's so badly affected by flooding :(

Lovely to hear about Michael's party! :D
